WASHINGTON, September 25, 2025 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for ready-to-eat meals containing a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulated pre-cooked pasta that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (Lm). FSIS expects more updates as this investigation continues. In the past, there have been two different years where Community Harvest was able to obtain funding in order to pass substantial grants on to agency partners. In 2016, the food bank was given the opportunity to purchase equipment, and in 2020, we had another grant cycle where funding was given to aid in purchasing equipment, supplies, and food to 60 different member agencies who applied.
