Community Harvest to Begin Partner Advisory Council
Posted by Katie Savoie on
Community Harvest Food Bank will be starting a Partner Advisory Council with member agencies from all nine counties in our service region, and applications are available to member agencies in good standing.
The Partner Advisory Council is a coalition of network partners who serve as advisors to Community Harvest Food Bank (CHFB). In addition, the Council provides practical input and feedback on CHFB plans to strengthen network capacity to better meet the hunger need in the community. The Council will give voice to the whole network and guide CHFB in setting goals and developing solutions that benefit all our agency partners.
Key Responsibilities of Council Members
- Work with CHFB operations teams to build distribution capacity for the network.
- Advise CHFB operations teams on agency capacity interests and issues.
- Represent peer agencies within the same Network Partner Group.
- Give meaningful feedback about program development and agency grouping impact for the full network.
- Attend in-person, regularly scheduled meetings and call-in meetings.
- Be available to respond and provide input via email as needed.
- Agency peer mentoring and support.
- Potentially present topics and provide input for agency communications pieces and activities, such as agency newsletters or workshops.
Structure and Membership
- The Partner Advisory Council will consist of 10-20 members.
- The Partner Advisory Council will meet quarterly with meetings being 2 hours in length
- Meeting locations will rotate across service area to highlight partner agencies and learn more about the diverse communities. - We aspire to develop a diverse Council:

- Representation of multiple program types
- Representation from rural, suburban, and metro agencies from across the service area. - Members must commit to a minimum of one calendar year, two preferably.
- Sub-groups will be formed as needed for specific tasks or identified goals.
- At the end of their term each advisory council representative will be responsible for finding their replacement.
